Finally!! I got to 'attend' a wedding.

It feels like years. Years since i actually 'attended' a wedding. And finally, this past weekend, i did. Yay!

As a photographer, i get to alot of weddings. I love them, But being a guest at a wedding is quite a sparce experince for me.

My friend Amy got married at St Gregory's Catholic Chuch, in beautiful Gregory Town, Eleuthera. We arrived just before the bride got and her attendants got to the church. Of course there were no seats left in the church. But standing outside felt better anyway. If felt familiar. I was fighting back the urge to try to capture all i could. As i stood next to my friend Miranda, watching everyone be all excited anticipating Amy and her girls' arrival i finally just gave in to my trigger finger. I squeezed into the church after the wedding party and bride were safely inside and took standing position near the exit. The ceremony was beautiful. Amy's smile always lights up any room she's in; and she did not disappoint. Paul, her groom didn't miss a beat. These two people clearly love eachother.Father Johnson even remarked that Amy had introduced him as her 'best friend'. You can't get it any better than that.

By the time we got to the reception, night was falling. Which only brought out the beauty i the setup. Stringed lanterns draped around the tennis/basketball court that was set for dining and dancing. Memeory maker cameras littered the tables. An appetizer tent, where guest were served three types of chowder. Along with fingers foods and various beers in ice buckets. It was a beautiful night. The moon came up with a big glow; and alternated clouds and cocnut palms to hide. The music of John Legend, Colbie Caillet, and Nina Simone added to the beautiful flow of the atmosphere. And the native band, playing old favorites got people rake and scraping out on the dancefloor.

If you haven't noticed by now. I am happy i went. So glad to see my friend marry the man of her dreams and kick off what i hope is a bright and happy future. Which shouldn't be a problem for Amy. Bright and happy is exactly how one might describe her. <3
